Support for community cafes

Community cafes are not-for-profit organisations providing low-cost, healthy meals. We can help if you would like to enjoy a delicious home-cooked meal or volunteer in a cafe.

There are currently over 20 community cafes in Brighton & Hove and many of these offer a welcome space in isolated communities.

However they often work under very difficult circumstances, struggling to balance the sustainability of the cafe while continuing to offer a valued service to the community it serves.

The Food Partnership coordinates the Brighton & Hove Community Cafe Network which brings together cafes who are then able to support each other through sharing their experiences and working together.

The network can help with things like:

  • Business planning
  • Menu planning
  • Problem solving
  • Creative thinking
  • Partnership
  • Volunteer support
  • and much more

Contact Alan Lugton, Senior Manager on alan@bhfood.org.uk to find out more. Networking events are always advertised on our website.
