North Indian cookery with Priya of Deccan Tiffin

  Saturday 15 Sep 2018

  1:30 pm  - 5:00 pm

Priya Deshingkar brings the authentic tastes from her youth in Delhi to the Community Kitchen, sharing the cooking techniques and flavour combinations that have evolved over centuries so you can prepare a typical homestyle north Indian meal in Brighton.

Centred on either Fragrant chicken curry in a yoghurt and tomato sauce, or Dhal tempered with asafoetida and dried chilli, this class is suitable for spice-loving vegetarians and meat eaters alike. Other dishes you will typically prepare include potato fry, smoked aubergine and yoghurt bharta, and sada pulao (basmati rice flavoured with cloves, cumin and cardamom).

Priya will introduce you to the spices (which you will blend yourself), and other ingredients, before showing you how to plan and prepare each dish so you can minimise on time and maximise on taste.
