Roots to Growth
Roots to Growth is an inspiring new project (soon to become charity) that runs a therapeutic market garden on a 6-acre site in West Sussex.
The group are building a supportive, creative, therapeutic community space for disadvantaged and vulnerable groups to flourish alongside the local community.
People connect with the land, sow, tend and harvest produce, build friendships and enjoy great freshly cooked meals on the campfire! Produce grown on site supplies site meals, a local veg box scheme, shops and markets across Horsham, Worthing and Brighton.
They run therapeutic groups, community days and workshops offering opportunities to achieve therapeutic, educational and vocational goals. They also offer the opportunity for companies to spend to the day on site, team building and doing their bit towards social responsibility. Groups they work with include mental health, long-term unemployed, vulnerable women, older men, rehab, homelessness, BESD & NEETS & learning disabilities.
They are currently looking for site volunteers, including those with transport who can drive other participants to the site. Groups of volunteers with transport can come to the site from Brighton, Worthing or Horsham.
