Saunders Park Edible GardenTucked away behind Shabitat on Lewes Road, this little-known space is being turned from a forgotten and neglected space into a vibrant, edible community garden. We have begun the vast job of creating a friendly, accessible and sustainable garden, bursting with edible plants, fruit and vegetables but there is still much more to be done.
Volunteers are invited to help out and become part of the story of creating and transforming this garden.
Regular volunteer sessionsThe team of volunteers, led by our community gardener Rosie Linford meet on the first and third Wednesday of every month from 9.30am-12.30pm. Everyone is welcome to attend, you don’t need any gardening experience.
Sessions can include any of the following activities: weeding and clearing, sowing seeds/bulbs, digging new beds, cutting back bushes, clearing around the pond area, watering, harvesting, making tea etc. There are a range of tasks to suit all abilities.
