Cake decorating Masterclass with Kane of Sugardough Bakery – SOLD OUT
About this event
Discover the finishing touches of the pâtissier with Kane McDowell of Sugardough. Kane will lead you through making a Genoise sponge and show you professional ways with making and using jams, flavoured sugar syrups and Chantilly cream.
Have a go at finishing your own cake with Italian meringue frosting using piping and palate knives, and practise chocolate work and chocolate writing to give your cake a very special touch. Prepare for some serious admiration when you take your finished cake home.
About Kane
Artisan baker Kane McDowell started his career as an apprentice pastry chef before training as a chef, in 2009 he returned to his first love of baking and opened Sugardough in Hove. He has since remained true to his ethos of using only traditional baking techniques and top-quality ingredients, plus plenty of time, care and passion, to deliver the very best handmade cakes, pastries, savouries and bread.
Places on this Masterclass will help raise funds for our Community Cookery classes, thanks to Kane generously donating his time for the event.
This Masterclass was booked by supporters during our crowdfund campaign in February 2018 and is now sold out. We hope to offer more classes with Kane in future. Sign-up to our newsletter or follow us on social media to keep up-to-date.
