Thursday 16 Sep 2021 - Thursday 17 Mar 2022
2:30 pm - 4:30 pm
Who’s this for? Those with mild to moderate dementia who would enjoy cooking together in a sociable atmosphere.
Cooking, eating and spending time preparing a meal can be a wonderful activity to help bring back happy memories of the past or previous knowledge. At our cookery club, participants get involved in preparing a healthy meal, with different dishes each session. We then eat the food together as a shared tea. Participants may attend alongside a family member, friend or carer if needed. Our course is tailored to the needs and interests of the participants, within a friendly and supportive environment.

Covid-19 safety measures
This class takes place after 19th July when social distancing rules and other covid-related regulations are removed. If new restrictions are announced, we will adapt our procedures according to the latest government guidelines and any updates will be sent by email and listed on our website. Our Kitchen space continues to be kept to a very high standard of cleaning and hygiene regardless.
Note: If you are Clinically Extremely Vulnerable, current government advice recommends avoiding contact with unvaccinated people. Please note small venues cannot request or guarantee the vaccination status of everyone attending events, so please take this into consideration.
The venue is wheelchair friendly.
This project is funded by Ageing Well Brighton & Hove.
Please complete the application form below to apply for a space. We will then be in contact with you around 2 weeks before the first session to confirm if your application has been successful. For any questions please contact us using the following information. Carers are welcome to attend alongside participants.
Feel free to contact us to book a place over the phone if you prefer.
Cost: We ask for a suggested donation of £5 per person, per session (including carers if eating with the group). Please speak to us if cost is a barrier.
