1:00 pm - 5:00 pm
On your marks, get set, bake! In this seasonal special, Martha Schlee-Bamford helps you create two classic festive bakes.
Experienced baker Martha Schlee-Bamford is the guide as you bake and construct a spiced, fruit-filled stollen and decorative linzer cookies.
You will mix the spiced, fruity dough base distinctive of stollen before moulding it with golden marzipan to create your festive loaves.
You will also create the Austrian Christmas classic – Linzer cookies (Linzer Kekse) – with a rich, nutty dough and delicious jam-filled centre. These delicate and beautiful festive treats make a perfect holiday gift.
What previous participants on our baking classes said: “I learned so much. I’m so impressed with what I made.” and “Enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, great event!”
About your teacher: Martha Schlee-Bamford currently works as a baking teacher for the charity Bramber Bakehouse. Her heritage (American and Austrian) greatly inspires her bakes, as well as her training in patisserie and sourdough. Find out more about the cooks who teach in the Community Kitchen.
