Food & Wellbeing (community cookery)
About this event
Places are open to those living in social housing, on benefits, as well as older people living alone or with a health condition.
What we eat affects how we feel, and our wellbeing can affect what we choose to eat.
Our Community Cookery Leader Emiliano and Nutritionist Fran will give you some useful healthy eating messages, giving you simple tips to help you eat better. We will share quick, tasty recipes that can easily fit into any lifestyle. In just a few hours you will create, taste and takeaway:
- snacks – an omega packed quick and easy dip and a healthy snack, with healthy fats
- soups – for when you need a nutritious and balanced meal
- salads – our favourite recipes for making tasty veg meal
Join us a relaxing and friendly session and leave with new skills and inspiration.
Application instructions
Who can attend?
People who are able to participate independently and attend an in person cookery session. Attendees must be either social housing residents, on benefits, or older people living alone or with a health condition.
Places on this cookery class have been funded by Ageing Well Brighton & Hove and by Southern Housing Group.
Costs:
We ask for a suggested donation of £5 on the day of the class, payments can be made by cash or card.
If travel/ transport costs will be an issue for you, please contact us as we may be able to help.
To reserve your place:
All participants must apply for a space on this course in advance – we will contact you around two weeks before the class to confirm if your application has been successful. Please complete the brief form below if you can. Alternatively, email, call or text to register your interest and we can go through a few additional questions on the phone.
