Inspiring young people to become independent in the kitchen and to think about how the foods we eat can affect our mood and mental health.
This fun and informative cooking workshop held by Gemma and her assistant (daughter) Carmen will give your tween some practical and lifelong tools, to not only be able to start cooking for themselves but also make sensible choices around what foods they are going to eat and the reasons why!
During the session, we will create simple and tasty mood-boosting dishes that your child can then recreate independently at home, whether for breakfast, packed lunch or an after-school snack.
This class has been designed for young people aged roughly 9-13 years old, no previous cookery experience is required. Please contact us if you are unsure whether it would be suitable for your child.
Dietary requirements: The menu for this class will be plant-based, and can be adapted for vegan diets but this must be specified when booking. For any other dietary requirements or allergies, please contact us to discuss before booking.
Tickets for this event include:
- professional cookery tuition
- all ingredients and equipment
- soft drinks available throughout the session
- a light meal to eat together
- all recipes from the class.
Any profits from this session will go to Chomp Brighton who provide meals for low-income families during the school holidays.
Gem has generously donated her time for the class. Find out more about Gem and her recent book, The Self-Care Cookbook (which will be available to purchase at the session).
