Get all hygge in the Kitchen with a special winter baking session dedicated to the art of Scandi breadmaking.
Join Anna Haynes to learn about the authentic ingredients and lore of Scandi bread. Anna is half-Swedish and an experienced baking tutor who founded Anna’s Kitchen. She will take you through the key stages needed to produce three distinctly different traditional bakes: a limpa, a deliciously soft and slightly sweet rye bread, common across all Scandinavia; a sweet treat of apple and cardamom bullar (buns) and a tunnbröd (‘thin bread’) as perfect a wrap for sausage and mash as it is for eating with cold meat, cheese, salad or prawns – or simply for dipping in a winter warmer soup.
Expect coffee to flow and the soothing aromas of cardamom and caraway to fill the air as you are led through the mixing, rising, knocking back, shaping and proving – processes that won’t be hurried in this laid-back session, which will include a shared lunch of a traditional smörgåsbord with the tunnbröd, including classic accompaniments like pickled veg, cheese and fish.

Tickets for this event are £75 per person, or £70 (per person) when booking two or more tickets at once. We have a limited number of tickets available at a concession rate of £55 for those who are in receipt of a means-tested benefit, under-18’s (must be accompanied by an adult), as well as full-time students (use the drop-down to choose this option when purchasing your ticket).
