Lovely people of Brighton! Everyone has been super amazing at supporting our Community Kitchen in all sorts of ways. The Kitchen is now entering its fourth week of running courses and the feedback has been amazing so far.
However, our lovely Kitchen isn’t yet fully equipped due to the build needing more money than originally anticipated (we found asbestos during the refurb’ and this needed specialist – and costly – removal).
This means we are now on the lookout for the following items which were in the original spec but couldn’t be purchased:
- A new or barely used washing machine which has an in-built drying function (cost £600).
- Two new or barely used small freezers (total cost £400).
- A new or barely used single phase, commercial dishwasher (cost £1800).
These items will make delivery of our courses in the Kitchen so much better for those benefiting from them, as well as more efficient for those delivering them. And it will allow our wonderful volunteers to concentrate on the important role of assisting in the classes rather than spending their valuable time up to their elbows in washing up suds.
