Siriol Hugh-Jones has lived in Brighton & Hove since 2007. She was elected as a Green Party councillor in Brighton & Hove in 2019. She became joint chair of the council’s Housing Committee following a change of administration in late July 2020. Her remit covers major works, maintenance and repairs. She has a particular interest in retrofitting and energy efficiency and chairs the Zero Carbon New Build Working Group. She also chairs the council’s Asset Management Board. This includes looking at options for community food growing, and the Food Partnership have been a major contributor to the consultation. Outside the council, she has a background as a commercial lawyer, a freelance cellist and, since 2008, as a freelance legal translator. She is a keen “foodie” and is delighted to have joined the Food Partnership’s board.
