You’re invited – Our 20th Anniversary Conference
About this event
Conference invitation: Brighton & Hove Food Partnership at 20yrs – What’s next?
When / Where: Wednesday 25 November 2026, 1.30–5.15pm, University of Brighton, Edward Street
Twenty years ago, Brighton & Hove started doing something radical that now feels more important than ever. We brought people together across health, local government, business and community organisations to think about food as a whole system, and to turn plans into practical action.
Today, food resilience is moving up the national agenda. Extreme weather, cyber-attacks and global uncertainty are putting a new focus on how we prepare for disruption and make sure everyone can eat well in a changing world.
This conference is a chance to celebrate what Brighton & Hove Food Partnership has helped build, but more importantly to look forward.
Conference programme
The opening session includes Stuart Gillespie, author of Food Fight, and a panel of young people and people with lived experience of food insecurity. Spotlight sessions will explore nature-friendly farming and local food infrastructure, the future of food support in the city and a session looking at the practical learning from the Food Use Places project on using food better and reducing waste.
Throughout the afternoon, visit Food in Action, our interactive exhibition celebrating 20 years of BHFP through photographs, archive material, stories and hands-on activities.
BHFP at 20. What have we learnt? What is working? And what do we need to build now to make Brighton & Hove’s food system more resilient for the next 20 years?
