A taste of summer: Seasonal cookery

Tuesday 28th August 2018
6:30 pm - 9:30 pm

About this event

Get more from your food by making the most of what’s in your veg box and the shops now. (Also good for growers with gluts!) And food that’s in season tastes so much better.

Make the most of the season’s ingredients with experienced cookery teacher Caroline Whiteman. In this workshop, you will use a variety of ingredients and techniques to make an (at least) three-course dinner – and get to grips with some preserving techniques to make the most of the harvest.

Summer’s class includes fresh new recipes and traditional dishes focusing on showcasing the best of the summer produce including; plums, apples, mackerel, marrow, courgette, beetroot and tomatoes.

You will leave with new ideas, some of the prepared preserves, all the recipes from the course and having eaten a fabulous of-the-moment meal.

Find out more about Caroline and the other cooks who teach in the Community Kitchen.
