Help us shape how food support is delivered in our city
About this event
We’d like to hear from people who have lived experience of accessing food support, for example people who’ve been to a food bank or an affordable food shop, to inform a citywide approach to supporting people struggling to afford food.
We know your views are incredibly important. Alongside this meeting we are speaking to a wide range of people about how we access food support in Brighton and Hove, from food bank coordinators to councillors and advice workers.
We will use everyone’s feedback to come up with a new plan for how food support is delivered in our city, which we will put forward to Brighton and Hove City Council.
When?
10th July 2026, 10.30 – 12.30, with a break and snacks.
Where?
BMECP
Who are you, and why are you doing this?
Brighton and Hove Food Partnership is a non-profit, and we work closely with the food banks, affordable food shops, and community meals in this city. This year the government gave our city more funding to support these services, and we want to ensure this money is used the best way it can be. We know that people who have lived experience of low incomes and using food support are often the people who best understand how these services should be delivered.
Why should I participate?
There is no pressure to participate, but we’d love to help make your voices heard if you feel comfortable.
Recognising your time in participating, we will:
- Pay you for your time – each participant will receive a £25 Huggg Voucher to spend in participating supermarkets
- We can cover the costs of travel for you
- Ensure there are tasty snacks and hot drinks at the workshop
- Work hard to make it a safe and comfortable space for everyone participating
