Old Spice – Outdoor community cookery course

  Tuesday 22 Jun 2021 - Tuesday 13 Jul 2021

  10:00 am  - 1:00 pm

Join us for a friendly cookery group in the lovely surroundings of Stanmer Park on the edge of Brighton.

kettle on a fireWe’ll work together to cook simple, healthy, light lunches at a relaxed pace, taking time to enjoy being in nature. Join us to learn some new recipes and meet new people.

Typical recipes include coconut curry, chunky veggie soup and stew, summer salads, hearty frittata and simple sweet treats. The course will include a harvest tour of local growers, Fork & Dig It, during which we’ll get the opportunity to harvest some produce to take back to camp to prepare, cook and eat. We will also be doing an outdoors craft workshop to get creative and of course there’ll be plenty of tea, coffee and cake throughout.

Location:

The course will take place in the beautiful Stanmer Wellbeing Gardens, just past Stanmer House and One Garden Brighton. Find out more about travelling to Stanmer Park by car, train, bus or bicycle. Please note that walking from Stanmer Church to the site takes about ten minutes. Our team will be available to guide people for the first session.

There are toilet facilities on site and basic shelter from the elements, but participants will need sturdy shoes and clothes that they don’t mind getting a little dirty.

Dietary information: Most recipes on this course are vegetarian and we can adapt them for vegan diets but this must be specified when booking. For any other dietary requirements, please contact us to discuss.
