6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Bookie Mitchell, founder and owner of Chilli Chicks Thai Cooking School, learned the art of aromatic and spicy Thai cooking at her grandmother’s side.
Now, let her pass on the secrets of achieving the distinctive balance of sour, sweet, salty, bitter and spicy flavours that are the hallmark of the best Thai cooking.
Have your pestle and mortar at the ready for a very hands-on class, grinding your way to the perfect, authentic Thai dish. During the session you will create a two-course meal, starting with a spicy mango salad with grilled chicken, fresh mint leaves, red onion, cherry tomatoes, roasted cashew nuts and coconut flakes. For the main you will make stir-fried prawns with garlic, chillies and Thai basil leaves, served with steamed jasmine rice. The class is adaptable for vegetarians and vegans, with tofu substituting for meat/ fish as needed.
What previous participants said: “I really enjoyed the day – the welcome was warm, it was relaxed and the instructions were clear and simple.” “I’m going to try more dishes and cook what we made for friends! Loved it.”
