Four sessions covering different global cuisines for young cooks aged 13 to 16. These fun, hands-on workshops with experienced cookery teacher and dad Jethro will see your child learning classic cookery skills whilst virtually travelling the world. You may never want to cook again!
Book single or multiple days – if booking siblings, the second child will receive a discounted price. These afternoon sessions are for 13-16 year olds, we are also offering morning sessions for younger children.
- Day 1, Thailand: Thai green curry with tofu, sweetcorn fritters and sticky rice
- Day 2, China: Dim Sum – learn three types of folds for dumplings with different flavourings and fillings.
- Day 3, India: Veg samosas, curry-roasted cauliflower, naan breads and mango cardamom ice cream
- Day 4, France: A bakery day creating choux pastry profiteroles and eclairs – filled with cream and topped with chocolate icing – alongside tasty strawberry tarts.
Skills covered include safe knife use (the bridge and the claw), safe boiling and frying, safe baking (including oven temperature control and timing), kneading, piping, mixing and measuring, spicing and vegetable preparation (please note, this is over all four days and not all the skills will be covered in any one day).
Previous attendees have also used this class towards their Duke of Edinburgh award.
Dietary requirements: The above menus are all vegetarian, Days 1-3 can be adapted for vegan diets but this must be specified when booking. Day 1 can be adapted for gluten-free diets, this must be specified when booking and please note we cannot guarantee the kitchen is a fully gluten-free environment. We offer a full refund if you change or cancel your place up to 14 days before your class. If you cancel between seven and 14 days before your class, we offer a 50% refund. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer refunds when a place is cancelled less than seven days before the class is due to take place.
