We support a range of local projects that need volunteer help to reduce food waste across the city. We are working with the Surplus Food Network tackling food waste in Brighton and Hove.
If you would like to get involved in reducing food waste you can volunteer in one of the surplus food projects across the city. Our directory has a list of projects and activities which take place all year round, during the week and at weekends.
Volunteers are needed to get involved in collecting and distributing food, harvesting, cooking surplus food, supporting food redistribution events.
Current volunteer opportunities include:
Fareshare Sussex – Delivery drivers needed to drive food over Sussex, Warehouse assistants needed to help pack and process food & Office assistants needed to help out with the organisation.
Real Junk Food Project Brighton – Volunteers needed to help out with weekly cafes at St Luke’s on Tuesdays & Weds, Hollingdean Community Centre on Thursdays and One Church Gloucester Place on a Friday. They also need volunteer drivers and help with their media and marketing.
