Food and nutrition training

Our team of food experts deliver training and consultancy to both professionals and the public.

We can organise a bespoke workshop or training session based on your needs, just get in touch to discuss. The sessions below are based on previous delivery for local organisations such as the City Council, Advice sector and voluntary organisations.

Training options:

  • Eatwell workshop

A practical workshop led by an NHS-registered nutritionist which helps participants to (1) understand the value of eating well and how it impacts other areas of physical and mental health for clients and staff. (2) To understand the basics of the Eatwell guide.

  • Food poverty awareness

In Brighton and Hove we have seen a rise in people turning to food banks and other emergency help. We are also seeing a different kind of long term food poverty, with more people struggling to eat – or to eat healthily – on a very tight budget. This half day session covers identifying and understanding food poverty, and how to advise and signpost to food banks, advice and more. Suitable for frontline workers who come into contact with people experiencing food poverty in housing, health, advice, benefits or voluntary sector settings.

For more information about any of these course options, please contact info@bhfood.org.uk.

Other training options available:

  • ‘Sugar Smart’ Champion training
  • Cookery leaders training
