Brighton Unemployed Centre Families Project provides a huge range of support, services and activities for people with low incomes including an allotment group based at Walpole Road Allotments on Whitehawk Hill Road.
As well as learning, producing food and socialising every week, they run occasional free training days too, such as caring for wormeries, culinary herb growing and making a hot heap. Some people only want to dig, others stick to picking fruit and veg, there is plenty of choice for all interests and abilities. They share a light lunch mid afternoon always including delicious fresh salad.
