The Real Junk Food Project Brighton

Part of the Real Junk Food Project network, a national and international movement of cafes, projects and pop-ups

The Real Junk Food Project’s core objective is to intercept food waste destined for land fill and use it to feed people who need it, on a ‘pay as you feel’ basis. They save edible food from landfill and feed those that need it within our community, combatting food poverty and social isolation by bringing communities together around the medium of food surplus.

Volunteer roles are always available: They need help with cooking, prepping, weighing and sorting food, serving in the cafes, clearing and packing down, washing up, social media, data collection, drivers (especially evenings and weekends). Most roles involve heavy lifting.
