birthday cake for kitchenExperienced pastry chef Charlotte Fuller will encourage you to express yourself artistically as she reveals professional techniques for cake decorating. We will provide a recipe so you can pre-bake a sponge before the class (or feel free to buy a couple of plain sponge or Victoria sponge cakes from a shop if you prefer), so the session can focus on getting creative.

You will use careful colouring to create beautiful ombre tones for the buttercream icing on your cakes and then create dripping ganache to finish. You will also practice buttercream piping techniques to create a show-stopping cake.

You will need some essential home baking kit for this class, a full list will be provided before the class but includes: piping bags, nozzle(s), cake board, palette knife and large palette knife or dough scraper. A pastry brush and cake turntable are desirable but not essential.

Booking instructions

Tickets for this event are offered on a ‘pay by donation’ basis. We suggest a donation of £20 per session, or £10 if unwaged, and £30 if you are able to ‘pay it forward’ to help us keep these classes accessible to all. Please note we do not typically offer refunds on online events.
