7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Learn to create recipes including fermented seasonal vegetables, sauerkraut and kimchi.
Fermented foods are big news now, and for good reason. Enjoyed for centuries by people from many cultures, not only do fermented foods pack a punch taste-wise but those who eat them report many health benefits. Fermenting is also a great way of preserving gluts of home-grown produce.
In this workshop, Caroline Whiteman will share her favourite fermentation techniques and pass on all the know-how you need to make your own fermented foods at home.
You will learn to create: fermented seasonal vegetables, sauerkraut and kimchi.
What previous participants said: “It was so simple, well explained, easy to do and follow. Good to work with and share ideas with others.” “Very friendly, good value. Totally enjoyable.” “I will definitely be making ferments, I had no idea how easy it was!”
This class is suitable for vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free diets. For any other allergies or dietary requirements, please contact us to discuss before booking.

Covid-19 safety measures
This class takes place after 21st June when social distancing rules are scheduled to change. We will adapt our procedures and numbers attending this event according to the latest government guidelines when these are released.
We’ve taken time to develop new procedures and systems to keep participants, volunteers and staff safe, find out more here. For those who have attended our classes in the past, the key changes are that we now ask everyone to wear a face covering when moving around the room, we no longer share a meal at the end but will package food to takeaway, and we are of course keeping to social distancing during the classes.
Tickets for this event are £35 per person, or £64.99 (in total) when booking two tickets at once. Those booking a pair of tickets should be from the same household or bubble as they will be working closely together, whilst still creating their own dishes.
We have a limited number of tickets available at a concession rate of £15 for those who are in receipt of a means-tested benefit, under-18s (must be accompanied by an adult), as well as full-time students. If available, these options will appear in the drop-down when purchasing your ticket.
Please note that only one gift voucher or discount code can be used per purchase, click ‘enter promo code’ to submit these details. If you need assistance please contact us.
You may book additional pair or individual tickets if you have a group interested to attend, however please note spaces are very limited due to Covid-19. We are happy to arrange bespoke private events for groups of six/ two households (or larger groups after 21st June), please contact us to discuss the options on email@example.com.
Due to current government guidelines and for the safety of all involved, we have greatly reduced the number of participants at our cookery classes. Any cancellations now have an increased impact on our ability to run a viable cookery school. We are therefore unable to provide refunds except if there is a mistake with the booking and we are notified within 48 hours after booking. In the event of a local/ national lockdown or change in government guidelines, we will reschedule classes if necessary and bookings will be valid for the new date or can be transferred to another event.
If you are unable to attend your class for any reason, we encourage you to transfer your booking to a friend who can attend in your place. Please provide us with the new attendee’s details (for the purposes of track & trace) before the class starts by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you for your understanding and support.Book your place
