Rediscover the amazing sensations of a meal cooked over an open flame, with ingredients harvested just moments away. All set in the woods on your doorstep, in our new series of outdoor cooking experiences at the beautiful Stanmer Wellbeing Gardens.
Join us in a range of a range of back-to-nature food activities, from foraging to fire-side cooking to finding the freshest veg and herbs to harvest from the onsite Community Gardens.
Then you will enjoy a delicious seasonal feast served with a glass of locally pressed apple juice (or bring your own bottle). Typical dishes include – Moroccan pumpkin & chickpea fire stew, herby couscous, flatbreads with herb and garlic butter, seasonal salad with edible flowers, chargrilled vegetables with wild salsa verde, caramelised apple & cinnamon pancakes – perfect to enjoy al fresco on a summer afternoon.
This event takes place entirely outside so you will need to dress appropriately for the weather. There is a covered area in case of poor weather, a compost toilet on site and hand washing facilities provided. In the event of high winds or very heavy rain we will postpone the event, in all other conditions it will proceed as planned. Find out more about travelling to Stanmer Park by car, train, bus or bicycle. Please note that walking from Stanmer Church to the site takes about ten minutes. Our team will be available to guide you.
