‘Time to Cook’ club for people living with dementia
About this event
Who’s this for? Those living with mild to moderate dementia who would enjoy cooking together in a sociable atmosphere.
Cooking, eating and spending time preparing a meal can be a wonderful activity to help bring back happy memories of the past or previous knowledge. At our cookery club, participants get involved in preparing a healthy meal, with different dishes each session. We then eat the food together as a shared lunch. Participants may attend alongside a family member, friend or carer if needed. Our course is tailored to the needs and interests of the participants, within a friendly and supportive environment.
When: 6 sessions held fortnightly on a Thursday from 11.00 – 1.00pm
Next course:
10th and 24th November 2022
8th and 15th December 2022 (this session will be a week later instead of a fortnight due to xmas break)
5th and 19th January 2023
The Community Kitchen is wheelchair friendly.
What previous participants said about Time to Cook: “A fantastic confidence-building and social course that benefits all.” “As a complete non-cook, I’ve really enjoyed every aspect of taking part.” “Being with other people and having lots of help and encouragement.”
This project is funded by Ageing Well Brighton & Hove.
