Cinnamon Popcorn

A quick & delicious, reduced-calorie twist on an old favourite – with a delicious cinnamon zing!

Serves 4 people


 

  • 100 grams popping corn
  • 1 tablespoon(s) vegetable/ sunflower oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon(s) icing sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon(s) ground cinnamon

 

1. Mix the icing sugar & cinnamon together and set aside.

2. Put the oil into a large, lidded pan and set on a medium heat.

3. Pour in the popping corn and shake the pan so that the corn gets covered by the oil, replace the lid on the pan straight away.

4. Every 30 seconds or so shake the pan (lid on).

5. The corn willstart to pop, do not rempove the lid, continue to shake the pan regularly.

6. When the popping has slowed right down take the pan off the heat and shake in the sugar & cinnamon mix. Shake the pan again to evenly coat the popcorn.

7. Pour into a large bowl and enjoy.

Additional tips:

Still warm popcorn, straight off the hob, is such a delicious treat – and a really satisfying snack.

You can play about with different spices, like nutmeg and all-spice. to discover your favourite flavour.

It’s a great idea to soak the pan immediately after popping so you don’t have a tough washing-up job long after the poppcorn has been eaten!
